Adult Seminars

Our adult health seminars build upon a similar foundation as our student lessons, but place a stronger emphasis on real-world application, case-based learning, and practical decision-making. These sessions are designed to help participants understand health concepts and feel confident applying them in their daily lives.

Each seminar is developed in collaboration between the Wilmington Wellness Classroom and ChristianaCare, ensuring that the information presented is both accurate and directly relevant to the needs of the community. Sessions are often led alongside a range of healthcare professionals, including primary care physicians, behavioral health specialists, medical assistants, and directors of health education, who bring diverse perspectives and expertise.

Through interactive discussion, relatable scenarios, and clear, actionable strategies, these seminars aim to make healthcare more approachable and manageable, empowering participants to take greater control of their health and well-being.

Kids Lessons

Our health lessons are tailored to empower children, equipping them with the knowledge and confidence needed to build a healthier future. These lessons are developed through collaboration between the Wilmington Wellness Classroom and both primary care physicians and specialists at Nemours, ensuring that all content is accurate, relevant, and age-appropriate.

We offer two primary lesson formats.

Our standard 40-minute sessions are designed for individual classrooms, allowing for focused, interactive learning in a smaller group setting where students can actively participate and ask questions. In contrast, our 2-hour seminars are built for the entire Horizons student body, creating a larger, more immersive experience that brings students together for deeper engagement and broader discussion. Both formats emphasize participation, accessibility, and real-world application, helping students build lasting awareness and healthy habits that extend beyond the classroom.

Collected Resources(Vitamins and Essentials)

Community Resources

The community resources distributed by the Wilmington Wellness Classroom are made possible through both philanthropic partnerships and donation drives organized within local neighborhoods and schools. These drives are led by our team, with dedicated volunteers helping to collect and organize essential goods such as hygiene products and household necessities, which are then provided to families at our events.

One of our key partners is Designs for Health, a nationwide organization that provides research-backed nutritional supplements. Through this partnership, Designs for Health generously donates these supplements free of charge to support our events. These nutritional resources are then distributed to underprivileged adults attending our health education seminars, helping to further support their overall well-being.
